Fibrax disc pad range includes the following three types to suit different conditions and braking requirements:

Semi-metallic - a standard softer pad, offering the best modulation.

Semi-metallic PLUS - a superior harder wearing pad, offering longer life and improved braking performance, especially in wet conditions,   (denoted by suffix 'E').

Sintered - a metallic "high friction" pad, offering longest life and best performance in wet/muddy conditions, (denoted by suffix 'S').

Bedding in your Disc Pads

Nick Craig of Scott suggests riding downhill and putting your brakes on until you get your rotor very hot. Then stop to spray cold water from your bottle onto the pads (the water should hiss if hot enough). This process should be done 3 to 5 times and particularly for sintered pads. Muddy water can be used to speed up the bedding in process, but just be careful not to drink this! Rotor condition also has a big impact on pad life. Ideally Nick suggests you should use 4 sets of pads at most per rotor.
